Advanced Pre-K Week - March 8-12
For some of our children, kindergarten is just around the corner. Stepping Stone School's research-based Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum is proven to prepare children with the skills and confidence necessary for success in kindergarten.
However, Kindergarten readiness doesn't just begin in our Pre-K rooms. All children at all ages are receiving curriculum that prepares them for Kindergarten and life long success. The foundations of our progressive curriculum are established throughout our schools, as we encourage phonetic awareness by singing songs, reading books, acting out puppet plays, and participating in rhyming and alliteration activities, Ultimately, this progressive curriculum culminates in the dynamic Advanced Pre-K year. This month, we celebrate the education and remarkable achievement of our children as we introduce an Advanced Pre-Kindergarten week.
Each day of this fun learning week, educators will highlight a different Kindergarten Readiness skill that is practiced throughout our school. Day one showcases Print concepts and Alphabet Awareness. Day two focuses on the Physical development of our children, including Fine and Gross Motor development. Day three involves Math concepts, such as sequencing, matching, and shape recognition. Day four encompasses self regulation and social/emotional readiness, as we encourage skills like waiting your turn, cooperation, and respect for others. Day five ends the week with the focus on emergent literacy and writing.
We are thrilled to embark on this week full of learning with our Kindergarten bound children!

Everyone had a great time Saturday, Jan. 30 at Austin Family Magazine's Annual Camp Fair! There was a lot to see and do, especially at Stepping Stone School's booth where children got to make sand bracelets and beaded crafts. Thanks to everyone who made this kick off to our Summer Adventure Camp so much fun!
